Emil and the Detectives at National Theatre

The Cedars Admin • 2 February 2014

Mr Peachey led our Year 7 culture vultures to central London to the South Bank to see ‘Emil and the Detectives’ at the National Theatre in early February 2014.

This classic children’s story by Erich Kästner, which is one of our school reading list titles, was brought to life with a dazzling array of special effects; but it was the simplest details that made the greatest impressions. The clever lighting changes; interaction with the audience and the story itself was brought to life by the production.

As the school play was in the final weeks of rehearsal, the boys gained a lot insight and practical ideas to use in their own production, as well as having a great day out.
