Author Visits

The Cedars Admin • 5 February 2014

We were delighted to welcome the award-winning author, Fiorella De Maria, to The Cedars recently, she met pupils and parents who were given an insight into the life of a writer.

In the afternoon she had a question and answer session with the boys, during which she demystified the writing process and gave a wonderful insight into what an author’s life is really like.  In the evening she led a workshop for parents about children’s reading. We all came away with lots of practical ideas.

Fiorella was born in Italy of Maltese parents but grew up and was educated in Wiltshire, also attending Cambridge University where she read English. Her book,  The Cassandra Curse , was winner of the National Book Prize of Malta (foreign language fiction category).
